Mostly links. If you get a referral link from someone, that's how the discount applies. Don't think they do public promo code fields much.

Yeah, I looked around for a coupon field when I signed up and couldn't find one. The discount for annual plans or if you're referred just applies automatically.

I used Smile.io before and found ReferralCandy easier to set up for just referrals. Smile does more with loyalty programs, but for pure referrals, RC felt more focused.

It depends on what you need. ReferralCandy is solid for referrals. If you want a full-blown loyalty program with points and VIP tiers, Smile might have more options there. I think RC is really good at just referrals though.
